Accommodation

Students talking in bedroom accommodation

Choose where to live

Taylors College can help you to choose the student accommodation option that suits you best. Staff at the College will help you settle in when you arrive. You can choose from:

  • Homestays
  • Student residences
  • Private living.

Homestay

At a homestay you live in a private home as a paying guest. Your host provides you with meals, and you will have your own private bedroom. Homestay students tend to improve their English more quickly because they speak it daily with their hosts.

All our Auckland homestay hosts have been police checked and are carefully chosen to provide a warm, caring and safe atmosphere.

Homestay is available to everyone. If you are under the age of 18 you must live in a homestay, with an adult relative, or a close family friend. For more information about accommodation costs see our Fees page.

  • Your own fully-furnished room
  • Clean, non-smoking home

Independent housing

If you are over the age of 18 you can choose to live in independent housing with friends or on your own. Living in independent housing with friends can be a fun way to save money as you will be sharing the cost of a house or apartment, and enjoying your studies alongside people your own age.

You can view available houses and apartments to rent by visiting TradeMe.co.nz. Please contact Taylors College Auckland if you need help arranging independent accommodation.

Thomas from Indonesia

"When I first came to Auckland, Taylors College put me up with a homestay family, which really helped me adapt to the living situation here. I found it really lovely and I choose to stay with them after five years, because they are really lovely people. They taught me all the New Zealand ways, so that was really fun."
