To enrol on the Auckland Foundation Year (AFY) you need to have a minimum level of English language proficiency (IELTS score) and meet the academic entry requirements for your home country. When you have completed your Auckland Foundation Year programme you can progress to one of our partner universities, provided you meet the entry requirements for your chosen degree. The University of Auckland entry requirements (Taylors)

Minimum academic and English language entry requirements from Auckland Foundation Year (AFY) to gain guaranteed entry to a degree programme for students applying for entry in 2020.

Please note that students who do not enter the University with an English minimum score of 75% or an IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0 (or equivalent), will be required to study and pass an academic English language course during their first year of study. This course will be included as part of the programme of study.

Age restriction: Students must turn 18 years old during their first semester of study at AUT to be eligible for entry.
